Carton Bros Manor Farm is one of Ireland's oldest family food companies, founded in 1775 and dating back to trading in the Dublin Markets. The company introduced chicken farming to Ireland in 1956 and established a hatchery in Carrickmacross, County Monaghan in 1968, followed by a production site at Shercock, County Cavan. In 1976 the company established Ireland's only dedicated poultry feed mill, achieving complete vertical integration. Today Manor Farm operates with over 800 employees and employs over 170 contract farmers, primarily in the traditional chicken farming areas of counties Cavan, Monaghan, Meath, Louth, Limerick and Waterford.
The company produces three main chicken product lines: Everyday Chicken, Free Range Chicken, and Corn Fed Chicken. All chicken products are produced to what the company describes as the highest standards and carry Bord Bia approval. Manor Farm operates a foodservice division supplying ready-to-cook chicken products to food service providers. The company maintains full traceability through its own feed mill and supplier network. Manor Farm states it is a consistent winner of Irish and International Food Awards.
