Caviro

Italy's largest wine cooperative producing Tavernello carton wine; private-label.

Caviro is an integrated cooperative wine producer founded in 1966 based in Faenza, Italy. The group operates over 36,200 hectares of vineyards across eight Italian regions, serving more than 11,000 member viticulturists. Its core business encompasses wine production and bottling (including brands such as Tavernello and Cesari), distributed across approximately 160 markets. The company produces wines ranging from still varieties to low-alcohol alternatives and sparkling wines. Caviro also operates Caviro Extra, a separate business division focused on converting grape processing waste into valuable co-products: thermal and electric energy from biomass, natural fertilizers, and specialty agricultural products. The company holds certifications documented in its sustainability reports and operates additional facilities in Forlì. The business model emphasizes circular economy principles, valorizing all outputs from vineyards—from fruit through pruning residues—and generating renewable energy alongside agricultural nutrients for soil regeneration.
