Manufacture Steffen SA

Largest independent artisan charcutier-traiteur group in Luxembourg (since 1989, sixth generation of butchers) with industrial-scale ham production through Lisanto. Six retail boucheries plus corporate traiteur kitchen.

Maison Steffen is a Luxembourg-based butchery and charcuterie operation led by Frank Steffen and his son Tom, with six retail locations across the Grand-Duchy. The company manufactures meat products in-house, including cutting and maturation of beef (aged 3–5 weeks in-house), production of dry cured hams under the LISANTO brand, charcuterie and charcuterie preparations, cooked dishes, desserts, and small pastries from fresh raw materials. The team includes butchers, charcutiers, salaison specialists, cooks and pastry chefs working from a central production facility.

Maison Steffen holds the "Marque Nationale" label for pork, awarded by the Luxembourg government to recognise superior quality, environmental respect and animal welfare. Its beef is certified "Lëtzebuerger Rëndfleesch" under a specification managed by the Luxembourg Chamber of Agriculture, which conducts regular quality audits. The company also holds the "Made in Luxembourg" designation for its butchery-charcuterie operations. Production applies HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points) methodology with oversight from three food engineers trained in food science and microbiology. Cold-chain management is continuous 24/7, with temperature monitoring of refrigerated lorries and chambers placed under alarm. The company publishes full allergen information for all products and maintains transparent traceability of all meat sources.
