Brauerei Schloss Starkenberg Betriebs GmbH is a traditional brewery established 200 years ago and located in Tarrenz in the Austrian state of Tyrol. The brewery produces beer using natural spring water from its own source and raw materials sourced from regional suppliers, with barley for the Heimatbier range coming predominantly from Tyrol. The company emphasizes regional sustainability, working with local farming partners and returning brewer's spent grain (treber) to surrounding farms.
Starkenberger's product range includes the Heimatbier and GoldLager brands. The GoldLager was awarded 94 points at the Falstaff Bier Trophy in both 2020 and 2021, and the brewery was named the most popular Tyrolean small brewery in 2020. The company operates direct sales from the brewery, a gastronomy facility, and offers brewery tours. Starkenberger also employs people with disabilities and sources wooden crates and packaging from Lebenshilfe Imst, a workshop for people with special needs.
