Viking Malt

Viking Malt is one of Europe's largest malting companies, with operations in Finland, Poland, Denmark and Lithuania. The company produces a range of malts categorized as Brewer's Classic (base malts high in enzymic power with malty and nutty notes), Brewer's Special (specialty malts with varied flavor profiles for specific beer styles), Brewer's Organic (malts produced without pesticides or artificial fertilizers), and Smoked Special malts made with peat or wood smoke using novel equipment and technique. Viking Malt operates a pilot brewery and laboratory services for customer support and product development. The company has committed to the UN Science Based Target initiative to minimize carbon footprint throughout its value chain and sources malting barley from contracted farmers in Northern Europe. Production facilities are located in Lahti, Finland and other Northern European sites. The website lists certificates available for its products, though specific certifications are not itemized on the main pages reviewed.
