AW Olomoucke tvaruzky

Family-owned 1876 sole producer of Olomoucké tvarůžky PGI cheese.

A.W. spol. s r.o. has been making Olomoucké tvarůžky (Olomouc cheese) continuously in Loštice since 1876, when founder Josef Wessels began production. The company is named after his son Alois Wessels, who took over in 1897. The cheese is made from skimmed acidic curd and gains its characteristic pungent aroma and taste through traditional fermentation and maturation.

The company produces tvarůžky in multiple formats: traditional ring-shaped pieces in various sizes, 125 g and 420 g packs of pieces (available unflavoured or in six flavoured variants), gastro packs up to 1000 g, and speciality lines combining herbs and spices. All products contain no preservatives and are naturally low in lactose. The product carries Protected Geographical Indication (PGI) status, awarded in 2010. The company operates retail stores in Loštice and other locations, maintains a museum, and sells through an online shop and B2B portal.
