Familia Torres was established in 1870 in Vilafranca del Penedès by the Torres family, building on a winemaking heritage dating to the 16th century in the Penedès region. The company now operates in its fifth generation, producing wines from historically significant estates and recovered ancestral grape varieties across multiple Spanish denominations of origin (Penedès, Conca de Barberà, Priorat, Costers del Segre, Rioja, Ribera del Duero, Rueda, and Rías Baixas) as well as in Chile and California. The company manufactures branded wines and spirits through its Juan Torres Master Distillers division, which produces a recognized international selection of brandies and distilled spirits. Familia Torres holds B Corp certification and is committed to carbon reduction and regenerative viticulture; it is a member of Primum Familiae Vini and co-founder of both International Wineries for Climate Action and the Viticultura Regenerativa association. The company operates production facilities and visitor experiences at multiple winery locations, with processing capabilities including vinification, aging, and bottle filling in glass.
