Hambledon

Hambledon Hampshire sparkling wine estate (England's oldest commercial vineyard).

Hambledon Vineyard, established in 1952 by Major-General Sir Guy Salisbury-Jones, is the UK's first commercial vineyard and produces English sparkling wines from chalk soils on the South Downs. The estate creates several cuvées including Classic Cuvée, Blanc de Blancs, and Première Cuvée, all crafted through traditional methods on Grand Cru chalk terroir. The company is now operated under the guidance of Berry Bros. & Rudd and Symington Family Estates. In 2025, Hambledon opened a visitor centre with tasting room, cellar door shop, and restaurant listed in the Michelin Guide. The visitor and winemaking facilities are partly funded by the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development.
