Founded in 1950 by paediatrician Dr. Heinz Lemke in Herford, Humana develops infant and follow-on formulas for different nutritional needs. The company produces initial formula (Pre and Stage 1), follow-on milks (Stage 2 and Stage 3), specialty formulations including anti-reflux (AR), anti-colic (AC), hypoallergenic (HA), and amino acid-based formulas (AAF), as well as growing-up milks for toddlers. Humana also produces formulations for premature infants and dietary management products. Production is carried out in an advanced facility in Strückhausen, northern Germany, where milk is sourced from farms using non-genetically modified plant feed. The manufacturing process incorporates up to 600 quality and hygiene controls. Humana offers products in powder form and ready-to-drink formats, with primary packaging provided in-house. The company emphasizes transparency across production stages and states its formulas are based on over 70 years of expertise and the latest scientific research.
