KauPharma is a Finnish company specializing in contract manufacturing and product development of dietary supplements. The company manufactures and packages tablets in its production facilities located in Alavus, South Ostrobothnia. Operations originated from pharmacy-to-pharmacy contract manufacturing of medications, with the first melatonin and folic acid tablets produced in 2006. The company now focuses primarily on dietary supplement production, including melatonin formulations for sleep support, folic acid tablets for pregnancy use, and lozenges containing zinc acetate.
The facilities operate under GMP guidelines, a practice established during its history of pharmaceutical manufacturing. In spring 2023, the company installed solar panels on its production facility roof to power tablet manufacturing with self-generated solar energy, with the company stating that tablet production can now be fully powered by its solar installation. The company manufactures tablets on a contract basis according to customer specifications and also sells branded finished products through pharmacy retail channels.
