Theo Coertjens International is a Belgian co-manufacturer founded in 1956 by Theo Coertjens and his wife Monique as a small butcher shop in Borgerhout. Over decades, the company evolved into Belgium's largest canned food producer, now headquartered in Brecht with a second production facility in Seraing, France. The company produces approximately 3,000 tons of meat and vegetarian products annually.
Coertjens specializes in prepared dishes and culinary preparations for the foodservice sector (hotels, restaurants, catering, events, leisure facilities, petrol stations) and retail distribution. Their portfolio includes Classics (traditional dishes), Specials (international cuisines), and hotdog products. All products are formulated without preservatives, flavor enhancers, or artificial ingredients. The company achieved IFS and BRC Grade AA certification in 2003 and maintains these highest quality standards.
The organization operates with 60 employees and invests heavily in sustainability and innovation, including a dedicated R&D laboratory and biological water treatment. Since 2019, production includes dedicated veggie and halal product lines. Approximately 33% of production energy comes from solar power. The company launches approximately two new products annually and offers private label manufacturing services.
