Chocolaterie Guylian

Premium Belgian praline maker (Lotte group). Predominantly own-brand with occasional private-label work.

Guylian was founded in 1958 in Sint-Niklaas, Belgium, when Guy Foubert and his wife Liliane combined their names and passion for chocolate. The company introduced its iconic Seashell praline in 1967, a hazelnut-filled chocolate available in dark, milk and white varieties. Since then, Guylian has expanded its product range to include the Temptations seahorse pralines, chocolate tablets in individual portions, and various assortment boxes. Production takes place entirely at the Sint-Niklaas facility, a 27,000 square metre unit where up to 75 tons of chocolate are produced daily. The company employs approximately 175 people in Sint-Niklaas and maintains offices in Great Britain and Germany. All Guylian chocolate is manufactured with 100% Fairtrade cocoa, uses only ingredients of natural origin, contains no palm oil, and comes in 100% recyclable packaging. A dedicated Seashells production line built in 1985 and chocolate tablet production line added in 2017 support the company's manufacturing operations. Products are sold in over 100 countries across Europe, Asia, Australia and America through supermarkets, hypermarkets, delicatessens, and travel retail outlets.
