Swissmill is a division of Coop Genossenschaft operating the largest mill in Switzerland, located at Sihlquai in Zurich. The mill has been in operation since 1843, originally known as Stadtmühle Zürich. The company operates grinding capabilities across standard wheat flour and specialized product lines including durum flour, oat flour, pizza flour, and pinsa flour. Swissmill offers mixing competence for custom formulations and operates a trial bakery for product development. The operation includes small-pack production capabilities, laboratory testing and quality assurance, and integrated logistics for finished products and transport. The mill also maintains procurement expertise for sourcing raw materials including organic grains, operates on-demand logistics, and holds mandatory supply reserves for national food security.
