Výzkumný ústav potravinářský Praha (VÚP) food research institute.

The Výzkumný ústav potravinářský Praha (Food Research Institute Prague) was established in 1958 and has become a significant scientific research facility in both domestic and international contexts. Since 2007, it operates as a public research institution under Czech law. The institute's work spans fundamental, cross-sectional and applied research in food chemistry, biochemistry, food technology, nutrition science and food engineering and process technology.

The institute's mission focuses on improving nutrition standards for the population and upgrading the food supply on the domestic market. Its activities include advancing food processing procedures from raw material through final preparation, developing specialised foods for population groups with particular health and nutritional needs, identifying and developing associated testing and evaluation methods, and conducting analytical work including specialised testing. The institute also develops and produces specialised measurement equipment and technology.

Operations consist of two main components: research project execution and development work, alongside commercial activities centred on fulfilling customer orders, providing services, and offering consultancy and advisory work. The institute is based at Radiová 7, Prague 10.
