Gyermelyi Zrt. operates an integrated food production system centred in Gyermely, Hungary, with vertically controlled supply chains spanning crop production, milling, pasta manufacturing, and poultry farming. The company produces dried pasta using automated production lines combined with modern packaging machines; operates three mills capable of grinding both soft and durum wheat; and produces approximately 170 million eggs annually, of which 90 million are allocated to the pasta factory and the remainder sold to industrial users and retailers. The company cultivates and sources its own raw materials and packages products in-house. Gyermelyi's export reach extends to 22 countries, with exports representing more than 40 percent of sales. The company was established as a cooperative in 1953, transitioned to a stock company at the change of regime in 1991, and has undertaken continuous technological upgrades since the early 2000s, including the commissioning of a new mill in 2013 capable of processing durum wheat and the inauguration of Hungary's largest laying hen facility for egg production in 2023.
