Alcazar de San Juan, Spain

Lacteas Garcia Baquero

Family-owned (1962) Manchego, mezcla and Iberian cheese producer with domestic and export private-label.

Lácteas García Baquero, founded in 1962 in Alcázar de San Juan, Castilla-La Mancha, produces Manchego cheeses using artisanal techniques. The company operates its own sheep and goat farms to control milk quality and oversees cheese production from milk sourcing through maturation and packaging. The production facility, established in the mid-1970s, includes ripening chambers, automated refrigerated storage, and packaging lines. The company manufactures multiple cheese varieties at different maturation levels—tierno (7 days), semicurado (4–7 months), and curado (12+ months)—under several brands. Recent EU-funded investments through the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development have supported automation of logistics warehouses, construction of a new cheese factory with packaging facilities, development of ripening chambers, and installation of photovoltaic capacity for energy self-consumption.
