Machandel B.V.

Pioneer in organic & biodynamic glass-preserved foods from Friesland, producing vegetables, sauces, soups, peanut butter and nut pastes since 1978.

Machandel is a specialist co-manufacturer of organic and biodynamic preserved foods established in 1978 in Haulerwijk, Netherlands. The company processes pure organic and Demeter-certified raw materials into shelf-stable glass-preserved products including vegetables, legumes, soups, sauces, fruit purees, peanut butter and nut pastes. All products are made without artificial additives or synthetic preservatives, maintaining both taste and nutritional vitality.

The company operates from expanded facilities in Haulerwijk with over 100 employees dedicated to small-batch production. Machandel offers both private label contract manufacturing and their own Machandel brand portfolio. They work closely with organic farmers practicing sustainable, balanced agriculture and hold multiple certifications including SKAL (organic), Demeter (biodynamic), BRC, Kosher, and vegan accreditation.

Machandel has grown significantly since its 1978 founding when Piet Glasbeek began making sauerkraut in wooden vats. The company transitioned to glass preservation in the 1980s and expanded beyond vegetables into peanut butter, nut pastes, and prepared meals. Investment by Windmill Organics (becoming 100% owner in 2022) enabled continued expansion while maintaining the company's commitment to organic and biodynamic principles.
