Shipton Mill

Tetbury Gloucestershire speciality flour mill.

Shipton Mill was established in 1979 and operates as a traditional mill on a site first recorded in the Domesday Book of 1086. The mill produces a wide range of flour formats including white flours, wholemeal flours, self-raising flours, stone ground varieties, brown flours, malted and seeded blends, and specialty types such as gluten-free, rye, spelt, emmer, einkorn and Khorasan flours. Product applications span breads, rolls, flatbreads, pizza, pasta, cakes, pastries, biscuits and croissants.

The mill emphasises regenerative organic agriculture and sources from grains selected for excellence from like-minded farmers who promote biodiversity and soil health. Products carry organic certification (current through 2026). A key part of the mill's work is grain selection, grinding and blending to provide bakers with consistent results. The company also sells complementary baking ingredients including yeast, baking powder, olive oil, salt and flavour and texture additions.

Shipton Mill's sustainability commitment extends beyond sourcing: the company completed forest regeneration work on the Isle of Mull, planting 750,000 native broadleaf trees over five years to restore ancient rainforest and encourage biodiversity. The company states its mission from day one has been to leave the earth in a better place than inherited.
