Saturn Petcare has over 30 years of experience producing pet food, having been founded in 1987 when the Stockmeyer Group acquired a small pet food factory in Hattem, Netherlands. The company expanded with a wet food production facility in Bremen, Germany in 1991, and extended its product range to include dry kibble, treats, and cat milk in 1999. In 2020 and 2021, the company opened a new wet food production facility in Terre Haute, Indiana, USA. The company operates three production sites with approximately 1,000 employees total: 650 in Bremen, 250 in Hattem, and 150 in Terre Haute.
Saturn Petcare holds IFS certification for European operations and SQF certification for its USA operations. It is also certified under ISO 50001 across European sites and maintains MSC/ASC certification. The Bremen facility carries the ZNU-Standard Nachhaltiger Wirtschaften certification for sustainable business practices. The company specializes in private-label production of complete wet foods in cans, trays, and pouches, as well as dry kibble and treats for both dogs and cats, serving retail brands across multiple markets.
