The institute conducts research across five business divisions: food development, packaging, process machinery, product efficacy, and recycling/environment. In food development, the institute works on plant-based proteins, meat alternatives, dairy alternatives, chocolate and confectionery production, fine bakery reformulation, and microbiological validation. The packaging division develops biopolymer-based packaging and sustainable packaging concepts, and provides conformity testing services for food packaging including migration and permeability analytics. The processing machinery division analyzes and optimizes industrial processes in food, pharma and packaging production. The product efficacy division offers sensory analysis, aroma analytics (VOC analysis), and consumer perception testing for Personal & Home Care products. The recycling and environment division develops plastic recycling processes, biobasic technical products, and provides environmental analytics.
